Better Health Services and Information for All!
A message from the US-based CSI Cofounder and Country Team Leader, Tausi Suedi.
CSI is a majority run volunteer organization and I am extremely proud of all 20 big hearts and strong minds that tirelessly dedicate time because they believe in the mission and vision of CSI. I'm thankful to our generous supporters who make this possible in the first place. Whenever I have the opportunity to join in-country teams, like my recent trip to Temeke Hospital in Tanzania, I am always inspired to do more - resources mobilization, increase awareness, and explore partnerships because I see through CSI's efforts we are indeed saving lives at birth, making a difference for the girl child, and actively engaging community members especially men in important conversations to benefit women and girls. Changes are possible; when you choose not to see the obstacles even though they are right in front of you! ~ Tausi Suedi.
Make a small donation of $7 and immediately help a pregnant woman have necessary basic medical supplies to deliver in a health facility.
CSI Team commenced 2016 with a solid momentum from great lessons and milestones in 2015 and more focus and commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. CSI remains dedicated and optimistic to contribute towards the reduction of preventable or treatable causes of maternal newborn deaths and disabilities; advocate for girls' rights and well-being; increase engagement of community members, especially men as key agents for potential societal changes; and form strategic partnerships locally and internationally to advance quality health services and information for the most vulnerable in hard-to-reach areas. We have what it takes to prevent and ultimately end unnecessary deaths and disabilities. Let's do it!

Quarter I: Top Three Updates

1. CSI has partnered with Jakaya M. Kikwete Youth Park, Tanzania to add value to the Park's sports program by educating and empowering girls. International Women's Day was all about girls - tomorrow's women, and CSI Tanzania team in collaboration with Grassroot Soccer South Africa educated girls and distributed sanitary pads for free. #GirlTalkGirlPower.

2. CSI Uganda bounced back after months of inactivity since International Day of the Girl in October 2015 due to presidential elections. On March 16th, in collaboration with Profam and Kajjansi Health Center III, the team had a successful outreach event. Among the free reproductive health services provided, there was high demand for cervical cancer and family planning services. #Collaboration is key to reach the unreached. #CSIUganda

3. All hands on deck - Runway Moms For A Cause will host their fourth annual black tie event on May 13, 2016 at the Westin Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia to benefit Childbirth Survival International. Following Mother's Day, mom models will walk the runway to support CSI's mission to help the world's poorest mothers and children receive quality health services and information. Come learn how CSI is making a difference and how you can help make a long-lasting impact for women and girls - they need you to stand  up for them! Click here more information and to RSVP. #EveryBirthCounts.
