Girl Talk, Girl Power: Investing in Girls

Location: Multiple schools in Wakiso District, Uganda
The CSI Uganda team will reach out to adolescent girls from P.6 to S.2 with educational and informational materials on "taboo" topics. Several schools across Uganda have embraced CSI's girl child program, Girl Talk, Girl Power as a culturally appropriate and effective program in understanding menstruation and menstrual hygiene, prevention of HIV/AIDS infection, reducing unintended pregnancies, and empowering girls to stay in school.  

African Healthcare Infrastructure Committee Meeting

With the 2016 U.S. Presidential elections, it's critical to keep strengthening of healthcare systems, quality healthcare delivery, data and dissemination of information to ensure better health for all in Africa and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals remains a top priority in the next administration. CSI as a Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health organization working in Africa will contribute to policy recommendations.

As a key White Ribbon Alliance partner for safe motherhood, CSI will attend the quarterly meeting contributing to the achievement of guidelines and standards to reduce preventable maternal-newborn mortality in developing countries.
