Christmas at Silver Creek

We've got alot going on this month. Here's a rundown of some of them!

SCF Kids - Renee Hunter, our Director of Kid's Ministry, has come up with a fantastic way to serve our families at SCF. She is offering a weekly delivery of SCF Kid's materials and crafts. Or you can come and pick it up each week. If you don't want the craft, just the lessons, than we can email those to you. To find out more visit our SCF Kids page.

Advent Daily Devotionals - Available online at or if you prefer a printed copy, they are available in our lobby. Stop by the office sometime during the week. Each day will also be posted on our FB and Instagram pages.

Sibyl Barnes

Sibyl Barnes, mother to Rob, Sibyl, and Herb Barnes, grandmother and great grandmother to many, and friend to so many others, passed away November 21, 2020. Sibyl has been a part of Silver Creek Fellowship from the beginning. She is well known for greeting everyone with a smile, young and old, and welcoming them to Sunday services. She prayed for so many people, wrote letters of encouragement, and shared candy and other little trinkets with the kids.

In 1988 Sibyl started the Faith Folio, which later became known as The Chronicle. She produced it monthly until 1999, at which time Brenda Geiger took it over, but she still kept her hand in it by coming up with articles and interviewing members for the "A Minute With" column for many more years. She led many women's Bible studies in Silverton and Bible Study Fellowship in Salem, in an era when women didn't lead big ministries. She led the greeter ministry for years with the goal of knowing everyone's name and what they liked. She did follow up calls with new people, was a hospital Chaplin in Silverton, and was part of the prayer ministry at Hope Family Medicine. It was always about the people with her. She loved people and talking to them, finding out more about them, and really knowing them.  She also began many of the social events at church, including the Baked Potato Feast. She will be greatly missed, but we rejoice with the angels that she is home now.

SERVICE - There will be an online-only Celebration of Life service for her on Sunday, November 29 at 1:00 pm. Go to and click on the "Watch Live" button. Join us 15 minutes early if you would like to chat with each other and share memories of Sibyl.
