Dear Conscious Readers,
Here comes week 3 of your Zero Waste Switch Challenge!
You cannot imagine how proud I am every time you tag me or post your accomplishments with the #ZWswitchallenge on social media! You're just the best!
For those of you who just joined us. WELCOME! You'll find a recap of the last few weeks' challenges at the end of this email.
This week's switch is going to be so easy you're going to wonder what went through my mind!
ZWswitchallenge #3 - Bring a cloth napkin everywhere
Take a moment to think about how many disposable paper napkins you've been using during the past week.
What about facial tissue (hello allergy season!)? What about paper towels in public restrooms?
If your answer is none, please stop reading this and wait for next week's challenge.
If your answer is more than 1, don't worry, I've been there.
But that was before I started bringing my beautiful shibori dyed cotton napkin everywhere!
I basically use it :
- as a napkin at restaurants
- as a handkerchief
- to dry my hands at the restroom
- to pack my croissant furoshiki-style at the bakery or Sunday mornings
- as a backdrop for photo shoots :)
Come on, not at all the same time, what are you thinking?!
I toss it in the dirty laundry bag once a week, and that's about it.
The key here is to always have it on hand (I actually think about adding a couple here and there, or at least one in my handbag and one in my car).
See, that was easy!
Now it's your turn, show me your cloth squares, beautiful or ugly, it doesn't matter.
Please share pictures of your weekly challenge with us on social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, what else?). And don't forget to use #ZWswitchallenge so we can all follow each other's progress.
See you next week!
- Week 1: Switch to a reusable bag
- Week 2: Make your own toothpaste
If you want to invite your friends, please do so. The more we are, the merrier! Each individual challenge can be achieved on its own, so anyone can enter the challenge at any time, there’s no need to start from the beginning.
