My dear Connected <<First Name>>,

It's Stella here, your CwD Coordinator. With a blink and what seems to be just a few sleeps, it's that third Saturday of the month again. This means we have a Connection with Direction meet! It's also election day, so please vote early and let's come together at the Destiny Hub for our monthly get together. We miss you!!!

Featured Business in May:

The featured business this May is utterly relevant for everyone! Richard Musgrove of Musgrove Consulting will tell us about the art of effective written communication. Here is his recent article from LinkedIn - Plain English - Clarity in Communication! I encourage everyone to come and join the conversation about his business and service. He may be a good connection for those frustrated with grant, tender, or any kind of writing - for those tearing their hair out with writing frustrations! Richard recently conducted a mini-workshop in Cairns entitled Grants and Tenders - the Agony and the Ecstasy!

And, of course, the rest of us will listen deeply while Richard talks about his business - the highs and lows of this creative field and especially the bits which may not be flowing smoothly for him. Feedback, especially in the form of penetrating but sensitive questions, will be called for from the rest of the group.

CwD April 2019 Update:

L-R: Christine, Claire, Richard, Rhonda & Stella. Some of our enthusiastic CwD April 2019 participants

1. Business Featured in April: Rhonda Sorensen's Tablelands Gingers and Turmerics (TGT)

We had the wonderful Rhonda Sorensen fascinate us with her life journey and the exciting plans for her shiny new endeavour called Tablelands Gingers and Turmerics -  The SassyBio (aka Rhonda) was so compelling, I bought a ginger plant from her gardens - a potential Tablelands' biomedical secret weapon! I am taking very good care of this plant - me who can kill a hardy fully gown lilly pilly!

Rhonda's first Growcom and TRC's Economic Development Fund supported workshop was booked solid with 50 participants! In her workshop she discussed plans to establish a turmeric and ginger industry on the Atherton Tablelands to tap into the lucrative health and wellness sector predicted to be the next trillion dollar industry. "Our long-term vision is to have a cooperative of farmers who grow a range of ginger and turmeric for the fresh market as rhizomes, and also to be processed into a range of functional foods," Rhonda 'SassyBio' Sorensen said.

There are two more workshops coming up for those who missed it.

2. Update on the Atherton Tablelands DVD Launch

The Freunds' Atherton Tablelands DVD launch went exceedingly well with over a hundred fully packed Lake Barrine Teahouse crowd. Here's some very cool feedback and where you can buy the Atherton Tablelands DVDs.

Stella Freund (me) also shared her husband Jürgen and her latest video which opened the Ocean Event at the recently concluded Asian Development Bank Annual Meeting in Fiji. Here's the link if you wish to see it -

Hope you can make it this Saturday!
