50th Street Traffic Signals and Pedestrian Improvements

The City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County will be working on traffic signal and pedestrian improvements at four intersections along 50th Street this spring/summer. The project will replace traffic signal infrastructure and construct curb extensions (bump-outs) on the corners, including ADA-compliant curb ramps and Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS).

City crews are beginning to install temporary traffic signals this month in preparation for the construction. Reconstruction of the curb ramps, followed by construction of new traffic signal polis and APS will occur during late spring and into late summer.

The project intersections are:
  1. 50th Street & Dupont Ave S
  2. 50th Street & Upton Ave S
  3. 50th Street & Zenith Ave S
  4. 50th Street & Chowen Ave S
