Special Anouncement: Candlelight Vigil for Victims of Orlando Shootings

June 14, 2016

There will be a candlelight vigil Tuesday night in Greenville to recognize the community sadness and outrage over the mass shooting early Sunday morning at a gay club in Orlando, Florida. See details below.
Participants are encouraged to gather at Crave Uptown (409 Evans St) at 7:45pm to process starting at 8pm down Evans Street to the Town Common for a candlelight vigil starting at 8:30pm.  Those unable to arrive earlier for the procession are encouraged to join us at the Town Common.
(Please note that announcements on Sunday had a different location, which was changed to accommodate the overwhelming response we have received, with more expected as word continues to spread.)
Candles will be provided by several of the organizations jointly coordinating the event, but participants are encouraged to bring their own candles, pride flags, and signs.
Participants who use Facebook are encouraged to respond to the Facebook Event https://www.facebook.com/events/189813531419830/ and both share widely and invite friends to participate.
This event is being organized and cosponsored by PFLAG Greenville along with several other community and campus organizations, with additional logistical support from Uptown Greenville.
