Dear EDN partners and friends,
As the year 2015 is quickly approaching its end, we send you this letter as a one more remind of how important and precious you are
to us and to God who has called all of us in his ministry.
First of all, we want to thank you
for staying faithful in everything God had trusted you with this year. Thank you for being bold and steadfast in face of difficulties and unknown situations. Thank you for the love and enthusiasm you have shared with other partners thus inspiring and encouraging each other. Thank you for every small act of obedience that has made this world different and better. God sees everything, and forgets no good work done in love for Jesus.
All together we can thank God
for his presence with us this year. He guided us and helped us accomplish our daily tasks and realize some greater goals. He gave us wisdom and strength, and renewed our hope when we felt unable to take one more step further. He helped us to keep on believing that the work we do in disability ministry is not vain, although it takes time before we see the fruits of our work and faithfulness.
It is written, “So let us not grow weary of doing what is good; for if we don’t give up, we will in due time reap the harvest. Therefore, as the opportunity arises, let us do what is good to everyone, and especially to the family of those who are trustingly faithful.” (Galatians 6:9, 10)
One way we can do good to the family of the faithful ones is to share in their prayer needs
and also in thanksgiving
for what God has done. Here we add a list of a few things our partners have shared
- Our Turkish partners are involved in helping families and disabled refugees.
- In Bulgaria they had problems to get permission for summer camps but they are working on a better understanding with the school where they hope to have the camp next summer.
- Within the European Evangelical Alliance plans are developing to include the Hope for Europe networks, if they wish it. EDN will become a EEA Hope for Europe Network. You will hear more about this later. It will help us to get even better linked with the denominations- and church leaders of the EEA.
- Disability ministry Wings for Wheels, from Latvia, plans to ran a mini Disciple Training School (DTS) and „Challenge 9” camp for people with mobility disabilities next summer. This requires God’s wisdom and a lot of money. Also a special minivan for transporting people is needed.
But it would be really good if you send us your prayer and thanks items regularly
, say once in a month plus urgent needs. We would share the information with other EDN partners, and, you know, „The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.
We wish you blessed a Christmas season and productive next year.
