Please welcome Joy George of Harwich as our newest artist member, our new Board member Karen Shortsleeve, and the return of Doris Mee to living on the Cape. In addition, Pat Sarantis has (again) stepped up to take on the role of Membership Chair on a temporary basis.  Our 68-member Guild is enriched by their contributions.

The Board met September 14th to address a variety of important issues.  These included unanimous agreement to support a motion to increase membership fees $5 to Artists $30, and Associates $25, for 2021 calendar year.  This newsletter will serve as an official announcement in preparation of a member vote during our Zoom October Member Meeting.  Payment is due by December 1st and must be paid by Jan 15th to participate in upcoming art shows and events.

In Passing
Former Guild member Ann Thobae Diggs, age 88, died peacefully at her home in Harwich, MA, on Monday, August 31, 2020, surrounded by her family.  At an early age, she moved with her family to Cape Cod, which she always considered home even when living elsewhere. In 2007, after retirement, Ann and Walter returned to her beloved Cape Cod, where she tended her gardens, painted, knitted scarves and volunteered at several organizations. Ann is survived by her husband Walter Diggs and three children and a host of cherished friends whom she considered her extended family. Most who met her will say, “She never met a stranger," A celebration of Ann’s life is planned for the summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Ann’s memory to the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House of Chatham, P.O. Box 18, Chatham, MA 02633 or a charity of your choice.
