WEEK ZERO EVENT
Saturday February 18th, our team competed in the Week Zero event held at Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH, hosted by FRC Team 811. This is a pre-season competition which allows teams to test out their robots on a full field against other teams. This year, due to time constraints, they only held two qualification matches per team. Within those two matches, we found out that our program that allowed us to score a gear in autonomous worked! That was one major thing that helped us with the amount of points we were able to score in a single match.

In alliance selection, we teamed up with Team 1058 PVC Pirates and Team 125 NUTRONS. This ended up being an amazing alliance as we went on to become finalists! Our team had so much fun, and learned a lot at this event.
STOP BUILD DAY
Tuesday, February 21 was the FIRST Robotics Competition Stop Build Day. At 11:59pm EST on this day all teams had to stop working on their robot and “bag and tag”. That evening we also invited a small number of our supporters to join us for an hour to show them what it is like in the shop on the last day of build season. We gave our supporters a little bit of history about our team and showed them around our shop and classroom. Overall, this event was a success. We were able to give a first hand look on the way our team is run (and even some of the chaos that goes along with build season) to some of our biggest supporters. Everyone seemed to enjoy this event, and we are excited to hopefully plan more things like this in the future!

The team continue to work throughout the evening on Tuesday and bagged the robot in the nick of time!

Upcoming Granite State District Event

This upcoming weekend is our first official district event!  The Granite State District event will take place at Windham High School on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5.  All of our competitions are free to attend.

Come see our competition bot in action, check out our pit, and cheer our team on in the stands!
THANK YOU!!!

Team 238 owes a HUGE thank you to the team parents for being such a great help this build season! While all of us students and mentors were busy working on the robot, they kept us fed and healthy!

Thank you also to Memorial High School for our great build space and classroom resources and our awesome Coach Foote. We couldn’t do this without your support!

Technical Division Update
Mechanical

This week the mechanical subteam worked hard to finish the practice and competition robot before bag and tag day last Tuesday. We received our powder coated parts back this week and we began and finished assembling the upper frame assembly, climber, and intake for the competition robot. We also finished assembling the shooter for the practice robot and serializers for both robots. The last thing we had to assemble was the shooter for the competition robot.

Software

This week we created autonomous modes for our robot. We’re also in the process of creating new commands so that our modes can be used no matter what side of the field the robot is on. We also created a new function for our logger, so we can have a file on whatever gets outputted to the console.

CAD

The CAD model was such a great help to the team this season. The Mechanical subteam had much easier time putting together the robots and keeping the pieces organized because the travelers were easy to read. 238 has greatly improved our 3D printing skills during the season as well.

Electrical

This week within electrical, we built our practice robot. We still need to add the other parts to it, like the shooter, to have it be fully functional. We also made progress on our competition bot and completed our goal to have it ready by Stop Build Day. We have a driving robot for competition that can fully compete and hopefully win for us.
Operations Division Update

Finance subteam has been working on keeping our ledger up to date as well as keeping track of the budgets for the rest of the team.  We have also been working with the Outreach & Awards subteam on the Entrepreneurship Award.
Community Division Update

Fundraising

This week Fundraising began the team's candy bar fundraiser.  We have begun distributing boxes to team members and started our first week of in-school sales on Tuesday.

Outreach & Awards

The Outreach and Awards subteam has been working with many different subteams to complete the Entrepreneurship Award. The Entrepreneurship Award is the business plan of our team. It showcases our finance plan, our team values, and other information about our team such as how many students are on the team and the history of our team. This award has many different parts to it, so we team up with other subteams so we can get the most accurate information possible. We need to get this done by our first competition on March 4, but we plan to have it done before then.
