Hello, friends!

There's no doubt that the content we create is influenced by the content we consume. If nothing else, that relationship makes our information diet all the more important in a world where content does so much public work.

This week's double shot of content greatness is sure to mainline inspiration and purpose straight into your creativity, thanks to Steyer marketing writer, Kathie Holsenbeck. She writes:

One of my favorite tasks while working as a content person is research. I love finding quality resources to help keep up with the lightning-speed changes that are part and parcel of working in online copy and digital content. Recently, I came across this easy-to-navigate and incredibly thoughtful resource about accessibility in text. I recommend taking a look at Karen Yin's Conscious Style Guide to learn more about accessible alt-image text practices and what inclusive language looks like for all types of people.

Maria Popova's Brain Pickings is a wildly popular and beautifully written ad-free blog that reminds me of something I heard once in a writer's workshop: "Garbage in, garbage out." Avoiding this adage is also Popova's goal; she takes great care to select and dissect only the best content to sharpen your mind through the simple act of reading quality writing. Lawyer and author Anne Marie Slaughter described the blog as "like walking into the Museum of Modern Art and having somebody give you a customized guided tour." My favorite entry so far: "How Kepler Invented Science Fiction and Defended His Mother in a Witchcraft Trial While Revolutionizing Our Understanding of the Universe." (And you thought you were busy!)

Foam from our last Doppio: a personal essay and a podcast about trash talk shows.

Doppio is a weekly missive from Steyer Content, originated by Katelyn Reilly, Steyer's Chief Operating Officer. This cup brims forth with two concentrated shots of content greatness; we’ll never use it to sell you anything, including Steyer’s services. Doppio exists purely to connect content people with content, in a time when it’s incredibly easy to forget why we do what we do.
