One book down, 26 to go!

Luke’s second volume, the book of Acts, picks up a recurring theme from his first volume: God keeps his promises. But not everyone is prepared for how God goes about fulfilling his word...

Today we'll read pages 55-64 from Luke-Acts.

Read until “…priests became obedient to the faith.”

OK, 26 books sounds like a lot, but look at it this way: when you finish Acts in a few days, you'll be a quarter of the way through the New Testament!

Happy reading,

The Make and Deepen Disciples Team

Greeting from Steve Burger

Dear Covenant Friends:

The Holy Spirit is a key theme in the books of Luke and Acts. John is filled with the Holy Spirit before he is born (Lk.1:15), Jesus begins his ministry through the anointing of the Spirit (Lk. 4:18), and concludes with his promise to clothe us with the Spirit, (Lk. 24:49). Acts both opens with the promise of the Spirit (1:5) and ends with a message from the Spirit (28:25).

As we dwell with our children in the word this week, let us give space for the working of the Spirit. Begin with prayer, provide space for questions and let children reflect on where the Holy Spirit is leading them each day.

Sincerely,

Steve Burger
Director of Children, Family and Intergenerational Ministries
