For week 3 of your New Testament journey, we'll kick things off in 1 and 2 Corinthians.

To say the church in Corinth was dysfunctional is putting it mildly. What had gone wrong in this fledgling Christian community? The list runs long. So long, in fact, we could only fit some of it into this video…

Today we'll read pages 117-126 from the letter of 1 Corinthians.

Quick Tip: You may want to watch the introduction to 1 & 2 Corinthians with your small group before you discuss these letters.

Greeting from Meagan Gillan

Dear Covenant Friends:

How exciting that we are reading the Books of the Bible together. The unique format enables us to step into the story and experience it in a vitally fresh way. I’m especially glad that we begin this week in I Corinthians, written by Paul to believers in a cosmopolitan city with such a great variety of religious and cultural views. Sounds familiar doesn’t it? Corinth was also home to beloved church leaders and missionaries Priscilla and Aquila, the Apostle Paul’s friends and house-mates. These three ministered as equals, making us think that they would make good modern-day Covenanters! As we read together, may God give us fresh eyes to see people like Priscilla—a leader, a missionary, an evangelist.
