First off, A MASSIVE SHOUT OUT + THANKS to our fantastic staff, farm crew, board members, volunteers, CSA members, farm stand customers + the community at large for helping to make 2015 our best season yet! We look forward to next season + are already planning new ways to bring a little more “FARM” into your lives.
This year has been an exciting year of growth in our nonprofit work. We won a $10,000 grant from the Seeds of Change in the spring, which enabled us to hire two part time staff to begin to build out our nonprofit vision. Our pilot summer program, Farm Fun Days, sold out + we hosted 80 kids over 8 days in August at the farm. Over 300 students visited the farm on field trips. We helped to plant 5 school + community raised bed gardens. Our weekly volunteers more than doubled this year, logging over 200 hours in the fields. Have no doubt, the future looks very rosy for Norwell Farms. Our staff + board members have already begun planning to build out our homestead at the farm next season which will become our education center of the farm.
