Strategic Use of Academic Data: Annual APR Presentation
Join the Center as we discuss how great schools organize and analyze data as a basis to monitor and measure organizational performance at this session, offered June 28 in Grand Rapids and June 30 in Novi. Examination of the annual Academic Performance Report will set the stage for a review of current strategic practices. This event will also continue the conversation regarding the Center’s new growth measure and revised charter contract language for the 2016-17 academic year. Click here to register.

Eligible graduates of CMU-authorized charter public high schools have the opportunity to apply for scholarships to attend CMU.  Read more
Charter School Educator Award
Eligible educators and school leaders at CMU-authorized charter public schools can receive 50 percent tuition assistance for eligible graduate programs at CMU.  Read more
College of Education and Human Services
Links direct you to specific Centers and Departments within the College that have resources that can drive performance, enhance capacity and create opportunities at all levels of the K-12 community.  Read more
Island City Student Recognized in Essay Contest
An eighth grade student at Island City Academy, Tristan Hollandsworth, was one of ten winners in the state for the America & Me essay contest where students were asked to write about their Michigan Hero. Out of nearly 3,000 essays, his stood out as he wrote about football player Charlie Gantt who is partially deaf just like Tristan. His essay earned him a $1,000 check and an autographed football from Gantt that he received at a surprise assembly.
Sisters Invited to Prestigious Medical Programs
Two sisters who are students at Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy were invited to participate in prestigious national medical programs. Christin Moehrle-Nava is a freshman who will serve as a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders and Maleen Moehrle-Nava is a sophomore who will be attending the National Youth Leadership Forum Advanced Medicine and Health Care program.  Read more
Congressman Bishop Visits Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy
Recently Congressman Mike Bishop joined staff and students at Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy to present Student of the Month awards for all students who have been nominated this school year and speak with MMLA students about the importance of education. Inviting legislators to your school is a great way to share your story and celebrate the accomplishments of your students.
