Rooted in Hull

If you've wondered what it means to host someone as a Raleigh Sister Cities supporter, come on out and meet Adrian Fisher from Kingston-upon-Hull. He's coming to visit and is not only from Hull, but founded a non-profit called Rooted in Hull which focuses on developing urban agriculture opportunities in Hull. What he's most interested in learning from us is about urban agriculture's contribution to the entrepreneurial and civic voice of Raleigh and Wake County. What would you like to learn from him?

You are cordially invited to join Adrian at the State of Beer (401 Hillsborough St) on March 8 at 5:30 pm. Come on out and chat him up!

While there are several events and activities Adrian has scheduled around the topic of urban agriculture during the week, he will wrap up his stay at the Dig In! Conference on Saturday, March 12 at Marbles Kids Museum. Please contact Doug Johnston, Hull Committee Chair, for a full itinerary if you'd like to find some time to hang out with Adrian.
Taste of Our Cities
Farm to Fork Fundraiser
March 9, 6-9 pm
Mordecai Historic Park Visitor Center, 1101 Wake Forest Road

Be sure to plan on joining us for an evening of delicious tastings from area chefs inspired by the cuisines of our five sister cities! Our guest from Hull, Adrian, is scheduled to attend, so this is a great opportunity to meet him.

This fundraiser will support our 30th Anniversary programs and more information and tickets can be purchased here. Your ticket purchase includes a glass of wine or beer and a RSC membership if you do not already have one.
Plan to Come Along on a Summer Bicycle Trip

Response to the cycling events have been great, and we've decided to plan for an organized ride from Copenhagen, Denmark to our German Sister City, Rostock. The trip is tentatively scheduled for late August 2016 and this moderate level ride is open to anyone who enjoys cycling and traveling with a group of Sister Cities enthusiasts. Space is limited, and if you are interested, thinking about it, or have more questions, please contact Marjorie Salzman.
Compiegne Exchange Update

The decision has been made to delay the Compiegne trip until later this year. If you are interested in helping with the planning or going on the trip, please contact us here.
