Apologies for the short notice - we are very low on capacity at the moment.
Around 40 Campaign groups and Trade Unions have joined together under the banner SOSNHS for a national day of action this Saturday 26th February to publicise the damage being done to our NHS by government actions and to make three demands:

1. Emergency funding of £20bn to save lives
2. To invest in a fully publicly owned NHS and guarantee free health care for future generations.
3. To pay staff properly: without fair pay staff shortages will costlives

Local groups throughout the country are taking part and in the Stroud Constituency there will be stalls and some street theatre - organised by members of Stroud Labour Party, who say:

"Campaigners will be giving out leaflets, seeking opinions, learning about your experiences, and encouraging you to send a postcard to our MP.
Please come and let us know what you think and offer help if you can. This is a cross party issue and we'd love to see you.

There will Stalls at:
Dursley  Parsonage Street opposite the Hummingbird Cafe  from 10am
Nailsworth Outside the library  Old Market Street 10-12
Stroud King Street outside Barclays Bank 10.30 -12.30  Plus Street theatre at 10.30 am - with a play "NHS AHOY"

The national campaign says:
"The NHS is facing its worst crisis ever. This is a national emergency.
In 2010, after a decade of investment, our NHS was delivering its best-ever performance: after more than a decade of austerity – despite heroic efforts by staff – it has sunk to its worst-ever. The problems were there before the pandemic but have been deepened by the continued high level of Covid infections. We need emergency funds to save lives now."
