Apologies for the short notice - we are very low on capacity at the moment.
Around 40 Campaign groups and Trade Unions have joined together under the banner SOSNHS for a national day of action this Saturday 26th February to publicise the damage being done to our NHS by government actions and to make three demands:
1. Emergency funding of £20bn to save lives
2. To invest in a fully publicly owned NHS and guarantee free health care for future generations.
3. To pay staff properly: without fair pay staff shortages will costlives
Local groups throughout the country are taking part and in the Stroud Constituency there will be stalls and some street theatre - organised by members of Stroud Labour Party, who say:
"Campaigners will be giving out leaflets, seeking opinions, learning about your experiences, and encouraging you to send a postcard to our MP.

The national campaign says: "The NHS is facing its worst crisis ever. This is a national emergency.
In 2010, after a decade of investment, our NHS was delivering its best-ever performance: after more than a decade of austerity – despite heroic efforts by staff – it has sunk to its worst-ever. The problems were there before the pandemic but have been deepened by the continued high level of Covid infections. We need emergency funds to save lives now."
Elizabeth Stanley's play NHS Ahoy will be performed in King St Stroud at 10.30am on Saturday 26th February.
