Pero Employees Wear Pink to support a cure for breast cancer. Chances are, we all know someone who's been affected by cancer. With greater awareness and fundraising support for research, we can have hope that all or some forms of cancer will someday be eliminated.
On Friday, October 8th, the Delray Beach Florida facility gathered together in bright pink clothing and ribbons to share support for cancer awareness and fundraising. In the month of October, find a pink ribbon or pink shirt and wear it to show others your support for a cure.

Pero Family Farming Year-Round
|
|
October is considered by many to be the most beautiful month of the year. In many colder regions in North America, this month is associated with autumn's amazing foliage colors as leaves change to bright yellow, orange and red. Another noticeable change, is fewer hours of daylight, as the sun's warmth shifts to the Southern hemisphere, making way for our fall growing season.
Although Florida doesn't fully experience the colorful change in foliage, our sub-tropical climate is perfect for growing many varieties of vegetables, particularly our own famous green beans and mini sweet peppers.
During the summer months, our farms have enjoyed the benefits of cover crops that replenish nutrients in the soil that will nourish the winter vegetable crop. In addition, these cover crops also protect the soil from hot summer temperatures and heavy rains.
By August, cover crops have been incorporated into the soil to prepare for planting Pero Family Farms fresh vegetables. As you travel throughout Florida in October, you'll see many farms with small young vegetable plants on raised beds, stretching upward from the soil with small green leaves, to enjoy the Florida sunshine.
With the help of our farm operations team and the amazing resources of nature, these small plants will grow strong to produce our delicious green beans and mini sweet peppers, feeding millions of people throughout the USA during the winter months.
Don’t forget to visit our website at PeroFamilyFarms.com for many great recipes you can share with family and friends. Also, follow us on Facebook @PeroFamilyFarms while enjoying a healthy selection of vegetables you help grow, harvest, package, sell or ship to our many retail partners.
