Hello Exodus supporters,
Welcome to EYW Newsletter #5 of 2015. As we near the end of the year, we can reflect on the many changes and advancements to our organisation. 2015 is the year that we hold our first Street Festival where there will be lots of local business stalls, Exodus stalls and performances by many talents of our young people. One of our main aims is to constantly work on raising awareness about EYW’s mission, as well as working with ethical and moral companies who share our vision for the future of our youth. Through new endeavours such as fundraising events and support from local groups and businesses we are able to continue providing a means of assistance, guidance and comfort to those who need it.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
EXODUS GRANVILLE IS CLOSED

Above: Last TTOM at Exodus Granville on the 14th of October
In mid-October we announced the closure of Exodus Granville. It was with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to a wonderful location that housed many programs and meetings such as Connect, BUIC and our ever so popular, TTOM program. Unfortunately, due to lack of funding and circumstances beyond our control, the doors were closed at the end of October. Exodus Granville will be sorely missed by our members but we hope to stay in touch with everyone who has been apart of our journey in Western Sydney. Even though it may seem like a sad ending to this tale, we know that opportunities arise at the most unlikely of times!

TTOM PERFORMS FOR KOGARAH COUNCIL

On 19th September, That Time of Month (TTOM) poetry slam was given the opportunity to showcase the talent of the young people with whom we engage. TTOM coordinator, Abanoub approached 2 poets, Alice Tame and George Ziadeh as well as musician Rafay Hussain the prior TTOM slam and they gleefully accepted the opportunity to perform a segment as TTOM would!

On the day of the event, the team showed up for their set and were greeted by Bridget (see image below), the Kogarah Council coordinator of the event “Stories Alive.” Stories Alive was a celebration of literature, culture and all things in between for all ages. The team of poets were happy to perform some of their deeper, more sentimental pieces to the outdoor crowd, as it was small, as well as some more light-hearted pieces, as George displayed, when he performed his personification piece about his play station. Many laughs from the crowd ensued.

All-in-all, the afternoon was a great success for the poets and musicians, who all enjoyed the day and Bridget, the coordinator also mentioned how she enjoyed the afternoon segment of poetry and music. Exodus Youth Worx is looking to collaborate much more with Kogarah Council.
