Talent Garden Dublin, the latest facility in Europe’s largest network of digital innovation hubs was opened today in DCU Alpha, DCU’s Innovation Campus, by Minister for Finance & Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe TD. It is the first Innovation & Coworking Hub/University strategic partnership of its kind in the world and is designed specifically to service the needs of global tech leaders based in Ireland.

Cork company Zenith Technology is working on “revolutionary” cell therapy innovation with its US partner General Electric.The project with GE’s subsidiary, GE Healthcare Life Sciences Holding AB, uses software developed by Zenith to run and manage a particular form of cell therapy called CAR-T Cell Therapy that is helping hospitals treat patients with leukaemia. Technology investment firm Blue Yard Capital, set up by Dubliner Ciaran O'Leary, has invested €6.7m in Pitch, a challenger to presentation software Powerpoint and Keynote. The series A investment, which totalled $19m (€16.4m), has been made alongside a number of other investors including Facebook and Skype backer Index Ventures and Slack Fund, the investment fund of the online collaboration software startup Slack. Paddy Cosgrave says he'll move Moneyconf from Dublin if there's another falling out with officials (via Fora.ie)
“Hopefully the people that made all of the mistakes that happened the last time, hopefully those mistakes aren’t repeated and hopefully Moneyconf has a very bright future here, otherwise we’ll just have to move it somewhere else,” the Web Summit CEO said today. Web Summit, the event company’s flagship conference, was moved from Dublin to Lisbon in 2015. The Portuguese capital’s higher-quality facilities and a more facilitating local government were cited as reasons for the move. Read More
