A former Web Summit worker has raised €1m from business angels including the former CEO of Paddy Power Betfair and the current boss of CPL Resources. Peter O'Malley, and fellow co-founder Galen Lowney, persuaded Breon Corcoran, Anne Heraty and Paddy Cosgrave to fund their Dublin-based recruitment startup Advisable.com. Read More
The award-winning artificial intelligence (AI) software firm, Artomatix, has completed a funding round lead by Suir Valley Ventures totalling €2.7m. The investment will help the Dublin-based firm, whose patented software has been proven to reduce the time needed for expensive 3D art creation by as much as 80%, to accelerate their market delivery worldwide.

'It's just too slow to hire in Dublin': Why Boxever is looking outside Ireland for recruits (via Fora.ie)
Data analytics firm Boxever has designs on setting up a US presence after launching a Madrid office earlier this year to sidestep recruitment bottlenecks in Dublin. The seven-year-old company, which builds a data platform used mostly by airlines, employs around 70 people at its headquarters in Ireland but has been struggling to fill technical roles fast enough to match its growth. 11/10/18: Women Who Code Dublin: Capture the flag
Women Who Code Dublin and Symantec are holding an interactive workshop to introduce cybersecurity Capture-The-Flag (CTF) games, which will be hosted by Dogpatch Labs. Participants will work together to solve a CTF challenge in a collaborative and non-competitive mode. Previous experience of cybersecurity or CTFs is not required, and participants of all levels are welcome.
