Twas the Week Before Christmas…. 2017
Wonderful specials still abound in the Christmas market, favourites like Veuve Fourny Blanc de Blancs $70 at the Edinburgh Cellars, also Jacques Picard NV $50, plus a wide range of other well-selected treasures. At East End Cellars, find good value grower champagne from $49.50, or pay a little more for favourites from the Champagne et Villages pre-selected range – Didier Ducos and José Dhondt. The Melbourne Street Cellars attract you there with terrific pricing on the beautifully made A.R. Lenoble (under $50, and even cheaper by the dozen) and the delicious Grand Cru Franck Bonville.
Meanwhile, the big guys have specials like Bolly from $65,
Veuve Clicquot from $56, Lanson $40 (what a bargain! And the vintage is only $20 more – and a cellar essential), Pol $63 (these 4 from Dan Murphy). Not to be outdone, Vintage Cellars will sell you Piper-Heidsieck with or without gift box from $40, Perrier-Jouët from $53, Pommery from $50, the party-popper Moutard Rosé from $35, besides matching Dan’s on Bolly, Pol and Louis Roederer.
Finally, I have raved about the excellence, no – magnificence of the Pol Roger 2008 and see that it’s available still at $99.99.
Nor is it too late to order and receive delivery on the select range click here where you can find the enticingly succulent Le Mesnil 2006 and others worth trying.
Will I be drinking any of these this Christmas?? Well, I could BUT will probably cellar them until well into next year. It’s just a great time to buy.
