HEATONS SUNFLOWER PROJECT

Thank you to everyone who signed up to the Heatons Sunflower Project!  We have delivered seeds to over 400 households, to schools, pre-school nurseries and churches, as well as a residential estate requesting a display over a sunny bank. Some of you have already begun to send in pictures of seeds popping up and we cannot wait to see how they all grow.  Check out our website for top tips and videos if you need ideas. You can send pictures to our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts or to  growing@slheatons.org
Happy Sunflower Growing!

HEDGE MAINTENANCE ON SUNDAY 18TH APRIL 10-12AM

At last we have been able to set up the first of the monthly hedge maintenance sessions since lockdown! Please do come along this Sunday.  We’ll be clearing the path running alongside the hedge, weeding around the hedge, and picking up litter.  Come and join us to take part, or have a chat about what we are doing. Wear sturdy shoes and long sleeves and bring gloves, secateurs, shears and a trowel if you have them, although we will come with some equipment.

We will be following Covid guidelines. We will work in groups of 6, maintain social distances, and ask everyone to bring their own refreshments to have at about 11am.

The hedge is between Priestnall allotments and the recreation field, on the lane that links Trentham Avenue (SK4 3QD) and Mersey Road. All welcome.

PROPOSED HEATON MERSEY COMMON PATH IMPROVEMENTS - HAVE YOUR SAY

Many of you contacted us about the public consultation about upgrading the paths on Heaton Mersey Common, and made personal responses before the consultation closed. We expect the results of the consultation to be released sometime after the local elections.  The SLH response can be found here

LIVING WITHOUT PLASTICS
