Dear supporters,

It has been a month since we have been in touch, and we are all aware that aspects in some of our lives are changing. We want to update you with the things we are thinking about.
HEATONS CLIMATE ACTION FESTIVAL

We had a fantastic time bringing the Heatons Climate Action Festival to life.  The Festival was online 12th-20th September. All of the sessions were recorded so you can catch up anytime via our website.

There is a lot of interesting material and too many highlights to list, but something for everyone!
We were pleased that it generated so much support and media attention locally. We would like to say a huge thank you to Fountain May for helping to make our on-line event happen smoothly, Ryan Cooper for making fantastic videos, and everyone involved for their enthusiasm and energy.

Our volunteers are taking a collective breather after the festival but would appreciate your thoughts on what to prioritise over the next several months. If you have any ideas please contact us at climateactionfest@slheatons.org

HEATONS ACTIVE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The Heatons Active Neighbourhood consultation will be live until Friday 23rd October, so remember to place your comments before it’s too late. This is the chance to let Stockport Council know what changes you think they can make to ensure that the Heatons is a safe place to get around on foot or on a bike.

BUILDING WIND TURBINES
Would you like to do a one or two day course to learn how to build a wind turbine? We’ve been given the chance to set up a course here in the Heatons but need to know how many people might be interested. At this point it is hard to know the exact cost. Please let us know if this is the sort of thing you’d like to do (with no commitment at this stage) by October 31st by contacting info@SLHeatons.org

HEATONS TOTE BAGS
Kick the Plastic and 4 Heatons Traders now have some great new bags which are on sale through the new online shop for the Heatons, just launched. The bags are £5 each and come in either green or blue. If your old Sustainable Living in the Heatons bag has seen the end of its working days, now is the time to get a new one!
