FedEx Shipping!
A reminder that all shipping companies are extremely backlogged and the situation is only going to get worse going into the holiday heavy shipping time for them.
We are already experiencing severe delays in shipments arriving to their destinations on time. We encourage everyone to PLEASE PLAN AHEAD! Do not plan on your shipments arriving overnight, as the vast majority are taking days to arrive.
Our priority at Sirius is to keep your semen safe and get it to its destination as quickly and safely as possible. Due to the massive backlogs and delays we have adopted a few shipping policies as follows:
- All semen shipments will be shipped on a priority overnight service. This is the only service that we will use for shipping both fresh chilled and frozen semen. This does mean that shipments are costing more as the priority overnight service is the premium level service, but for now, we have security with this level and shipments are arriving close to on time, or within a day or two of the planned delivery date. Plan on paying more for shipments as the FedEx rates continue to rise. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO SHIP!!!
- We are only using what is called the ‘narrow mouth’ shipping tanks at this time. The narrow mouth dry vapor shipping tanks have a longer holding time, of around 3 weeks. We have even more security knowing that if delayed, the semen most likely will not be lost.
- FedEx is not honoring their regular money back guarantee at this time if your shipment is delayed. We do try to insure the shipments in the case of a loss, but they are not honoring most requests.
- The online system for tracking is already having severe issues. Occasionally, the system is doing bizarre things like making shipments as a hold for pick up at the FedEx office, rather than on a delivery service. We have had troubles with even creating air bills of late or logging into the system. Again, plan ahead and please be patient!
