👋Keeping in touch
First of all, I'm sorry. I've neglected this newsletter for a while. It's not that I've forgotten, I simply didn't know what to share with you.
Currently, many people in different countries are dealing with isolation. I've noticed that other communities are running different types of meetings to help fight isolation.
If you are interested in scheduling a call with someone just to sip a tea together (remotely) or to talk about whatever interests you, drop me a line and I'll establish a way for us to communicate. It's not the same as going to a cafe, I know. But if it helps anyone, then it's worth trying.
On the side, I'm running a giveaway for Pluralsight (course platform) access. If you're interested in joining it's currently running on Twitter. If you don't use Twitter, I'll be running a similar one next week on LinkedIn. If that's not your cup of tea as well and you still would like to learn something during the lockdown, just reply to this e-mail and I'll see if I still have some promotional codes left.
A very inspirational and interesting book I've read recently is "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey. It was a previous assignment in our Bit Better Book Club. The author highlights some of the traits that help us build character. It is a very refreshing point of view in a world that is hugely dominated by the cult of personality and the superficial.
Instead of giving tips on how to make others like you, the author focuses on how to be a better person and bring value to the world around you. Much harder, but well worth it in the long run!
"The Diary" by Gentle Storm is an exotic blend of different musical instruments played mostly by Arjen Anthony Lucassen and the heavenly voice of Anneke van Giersbergen. The album is recorded in two versions: Gentle one, and Storm one. The latter is more "metal" and brings the extra punch. You can choose which one suits you best.
