Dear Philadelphia Area Great Careers Group Community,

Happy New Year! We have some updates that we wanted to share with you for the new year. 

Please participate in our survey for a chance to win! We will extend it until we have enough participation that allows us to gather statistically significant information. 

As you know, the group is managed and run by unpaid volunteers and we know that this limits our abilities to carry out our mission. 

We walk with you on your career journey providing assistance, inspiration, and motivation to get you to your next opportunity. This could be landing a job as an unemployed member, landing a better job as an underemployed member, landing a client as a self-employed member, or landing a promotion as an employed member. 

We support working adults in career transition and those who want to engage in career management as an all-inclusive, diverse, and equitable organization open to all.

However, for sustainability, we cannot operate without minimal revenue. Not everyone that lands a new position donates, remembering that we were there for them in their greatest time of need.

We appreciate any tax deductible donations to our charitable 501(c)3 nonprofit at any time and especially appreciate those who have made annual contributions so we can keep PIF-ing (paying it forward). 

Our non speaker career success groups and many other jobseeker support events will continue to be free. Some speaker events in some locations will have a $5 fee, unless you have paid $35 for an annual Bronze membership. In that case, you will attend those events for free. 

When you become a Bronze member, it’s not just for the purpose of being a member, but we also provide you with valuable content all in one place to help you on your journey AND also provide you with some discounts. Yes, membership certainly has its privileges!

We know that not every single member of our organization may have the ability to pay the $35, so they can apply for a scholarship (forthcoming). Some generous friends in our community have prepaid for a few scholarships for those who have such a need.

You will also note a new Event Calendar (different from the Meetup Calendar, which currently has all of the events) that we are just starting to work on building in Jan 2020, beginning with just the speaker and special events. It’s a work in progress, so you can also refer to the Meetup details or Google doc for links and a chronological listing of speakers and special events as we update.

We especially want you to register with all the bitly links to our Salesforce, which you will now conveniently find updated on the Career Success Group page
