August is here!
Even though the celebration of Smart Irrigation Month in July has come to a close, Calsense promotes sustainable irrigation year-round, especially as we continue through the warm summer months. Read more about technologies that help to save water here.
Calsense is working together as a team and family to overcome the challenges that we as a business and a community have faced this year. Above all we are focused on the health and safety of our employees, partners and customers. As we move into the second half of 2020, Calsense is excited to announce the addition of our newest employee, Ashley Heiser!
|
|
Ashley Heiser has recently joined the Calsense team as a Controller. She oversees the daily Accounting operations and ensures proper controls and safeguarding measures are in place. She also works closely with the leadership team to provide the financial analysis that will help guide future business decisions. Ashley is excited to work with some familiar faces as well as meet new people! She also looks forward to seeing how her role will impact the company. Her passion to help others learn, grow, and see the positive products of one's own influence provides Ashley with fulfillment and joy! Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and snuggling her Goldendoodle (Dunkin Donut), boating the SC Lowcountry, golfing (although she admits not well), and all things Boston (born & raised) sports! We are happy to welcome Ashley to the Calsense Family!

Quick Tip
The summer months bring heat that changes our environment and impact plant health. The rise in temperatures also attracts slugs, rats, and ants into the controllers where they seek shelter from the sun. Did you know that these critters and bugs could be causing controllers to short circuit? Prevent this by regularly cleaning out the inside of the enclosure and checking for webs/nests. Ask your local Calsense Account Manager if you have any questions! If you’re not sure who to call, start here to get in touch with us . We are here to help!

Plant Feature
|
|
In this month's plant feature is artichoke agave (Agave parryi var. truncata). Like most succulents, these plants are ideal for locations with hot dry summers and mild winters. Artichoke agave forms tight rosettes of broad, short, thick, silvery-blue leaves with reddish-brown teeth and terminal spines topped with a magnificent flower that only blossoms once in the plant's lifetime. It easily grows in slightly acidic, sandy, or gravelly dry soil in full sun. This plant even attracts hummingbirds as well as other birds! Read more about artichoke agave here.

Kind Words from our Customers
"I appreciate the excellent field service and technical product support Calsense continues to provide. I wouldn’t have been able to narrow down and identify my problem without Eric Pimentel’s presence and expertise, and Dave Meehan even came down in person with the materials we needed to resolve the issue.
This particular controller chain is especially important to a highly visible landscape area. I’d have been dead in the water if your team hadn’t gone the extra mile, dropped what they were doing, and did what it took to help me bring this controller chain back up. I really appreciate the help, you have an excellent team of motivated professionals and their dedication to customer service is second-to-none in my book."
