Dear Hydrangea Enthusiasts,
Welcome to the June 2015 edition of the Hydrangeas Plus® e-mail newsletter! WE HAVE COLOR ON THE HYDRANGEAS! Oh, what an exciting time of year for the nursery here. I started on some photos to share
What’s happening at Hydrangeas Plus®
I hope you all had a great spring. Looks like we are starting summer this weekend here in Oregon with 90 degree temperatures – too hot for the people and the hydrangeas. Just Monday we had an inch of rain and 55 degrees. Remember we won’t ship if it is too hot here but will let you know if we must delay your shipment. I’ve had great success shipping plant order to UPS Customer Care Centers and Post Offices when temperatures are too warm for the final leg of hydrangea shipping. It really is that last day in the hot truck that can hurt the hydrangeas. Sometimes those poor boxes are in the truck for 12 hours!
We’re really getting busy here so be sure to leave a message or send me an email if you have a question. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Planting/shifting has started so I’m in and out of the office checking on finding room for all these new hydrangeas.
Hydrangea Conference – Cape Cod – July 14th, 15th and 16th
HYDRANGEAS, HYDRANGEAS, HYDRANGEAS! The Species, Cultivars, Newest Introductions, Breeding Innovations, Cultural Issues, Tours of Significant Private Cape Cod Gardens. Plus on-site displays by Major Hydrangeas Suppliers, and Plant Sales Stalls by Local Nurseries featuring hundreds of hydrangeas- all presented and available over three days in the cradle of the genus – Cape Cod.
Heritage is widely known for our rhododendrons, but we also feature a growing collection of hydrangeas. In concert with the Cape Cod Hydrangea Society, Heritage is the repository of the Society’s Hydrangea Collection and has continued to expand hydrangea plantings throughout the property.
Cape Cod is a historical treasure trove, a place of incomparable natural beauty, with a maritime climate befitting Hydrangea macrophylla – the crown jewel of the genus – at their blooming peak in July. Please join us for the Best of the Best in Hydrangeas, Horticulture, and Hospitality!
