MIO-ECSDE actively participated at the COP22 climate change deliberations and successfully co-organized three official side events on green and blue economy in the Mediterranean, the Mediterranean Strategy on Education for Sustainable Development, the SWIM and Horizon 2020 Support Mechanism Project.
A recently launched Union for the Mediterranean publication entitled “Key players’ perspective on climate change in the Mediterranean” features MIO-ECSDE as key player on climate change in the Mediterranean.
Some 70 post graduate students from 21 countries had the opportunity to participate in the Summer University of Samothrace 2016 that was successfully organized on the island of Samothrace in Greece from 9-22 July 2016.
Some 85 participants from 20 Mediterranean countries and Belgium and Ireland, were brought together in Tirana from 19 to 20 July 2016, to further advance the implementation of the Regional Plan for the Management of Marine Litter in the Mediterranean. The two-day meeting e was organized jointly by UNEP/MAP’s MEDPOL Programme and the IPA-Adriatic DeFishGear project, with the support of MIO-ECSDE.
