From Fr Michael

It was wonderful to welcome so many people to Holy Mass on Ash Wednesday this week. Welcome back if it was your first time back to church!  Welcome back if it has been a while since you were last at church for Holy Mass!  Lent is the perfect time to start coming back to Holy Mass.  If you have no symptoms and feel able to come, then you are most welcome to join us in church.

We will keep adapting to keep us as safe as possible.  As more people come back to church we can keep changing the number of Masses we have.  As I have said before... be selfish!  Don't give up your place for someone else.  By coming to Holy Mass you will be helping others to make the step when they feel ready.  Once we can sustain a full church for Holy Mass, we will add another Sunday Mass.

From this weekend there will be a regular slot for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).  We can't use the confessional at the moment because it is an enclosed space so we have our new pop up confessional on the sanctuary.  It is up there so that there is a good distance from others so you can't be overheard.  The times of confession will on Sundays 8.45 a.m. - 9.15 a.m. and 4.45 p.m. - 5.15 p.m. Of course, if they are not convenient, get in touch with me and we can arrange a time.

If you are waiting to go to confession it might be best to stand in the meeting room (socially distanced).  You will be able to see if the confessional is free.  This will avoid swapping seats in church.  Wear a face covering.  The words for the Act of Contrition are on the confessional screen.  After you have been there will be wipes to clean the kneeler ready for the next person.

Please do not worry if you have forgotten the words, or can't remember what to do.  Just focus on what you need to confess and I can help with the rest.  If it has been a long time since you last went, use this as a wonderful opportunity to kickstart your Lent.

With every blessing for the first week of Lent.
Hope, pray, don't worry!

Fr Michael

Serve - Hospitality Team

If you are able to come to Holy Mass and can help serve in our Hospitality Team, that would be fantastic.  This is the only way we are able to offer welcome and service at church at the moment and is great way to get involved.  Contact Lindsay for more information.
