From Fr Michael

It has been great welcoming people back to Holy Mass.  The church sounds so much better (a little warmer) with extra bodies in!

The message from me at the moment is - if you want to come to Holy Mass, come to Holy Mass.

We are operating a reduced Sunday timetable.  I will increase the number of Sunday Masses as more people return to Mass.  So, perhaps counter intuitively, I want to encourage you to be selfish!  Don't 'give up' your place at Holy Mass for someone else.  If you want to come to Holy Mass, come to Holy Mass.  It will help me know when the time is right to add an additional Mass.

Please remember to reserve tickets for Christmas.  The details are below.  Use the ticket hotline and don't ask me or Eileen when you see us - we'll forget and you will be disappointed!

Have you checked out Beyond Adversity yet?  Do go and have a look, the reflections and readings have been great.

The Christmas tree is being delivered on Tuesday and soon afterwards, stars will be slowly added.  Thanks to those who have sent names and donations in.  If you wish to add a star to the tree, see the note below.

We have lots of Walk With Me books in church.  They are placed on the benches in front of your seat.  Please take them with you when you come to Holy Mass.  If you need more, they are available at the back of church.

Readings for the Second Sunday of Advent

Advent at St Teresa's

Rorate Mass - Saturday 7.00 a.m.
We will be contenting the tradition of early morning Mass by candlelight on Saturdays in Advent.  We come together before dawn to wait with Mary for Jesus, the Rising Sun, to shine upon us.  It is a beautiful Advent experience and worth the early start!  Here is a piece of music by James MacMillan called Radient Dawn, which is rather beautiful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_mF13iD7Rg

Beyond Adversity
There will be a reflections posted from 1st December until 24th December.  I have seen and listened to some of them and they are fantastic!  I hope you enjoy them too when they are posted!  Thanks to Nigel and Laura for leading this great project!

Christmas Tree and Stars
We are going to have just one tree this year... but a big tree!  We would like you to decorate it with gold and silver stars (as we have done in previous years).  It is going to be difficult to let everyone come round the tree and write on the stars and hang them. So, if you could make a donation (either by post or online) and click here to send us who you want to remember this year, we will write the names on the stars and hang them for you.

Walk With Me
Booklets are available for collection.  Please take one, and if you can spare a £1 place it in the collection box.  Take them for friends, relatives and neighbours unable to come to church at the moment.  They will be available at church for private prayer this weekend.
Christmas Masses

Please note all of this is subject to change.

Our priority will be to celebrate the Masses of Christmas with devotion and safety. We will be limiting the number of people who can attend so that we can maximise the available space.  So that we have accurate numbers we will be asking you to reserve a space by booking a ticket.  If you do not have a ticket, it will be unlikely that you will be able to attend.  The times of Holy Mass and the seating capacity are below.  We are very grateful to St Teresa's school who are letting us livestream into the School Hall where there will be an altar and tabernacle for Holy Communion.

4.00 p.m.
Vigil Mass of Christmas   (53 remaining in church and 94 reaming in school)

12.00 a.m.
Midnight Mass   (141 remaining in church)

9.30 a.m.

Parish Notices

Christmas Tree
Many thanks to Mr Peter Clarke who has very kindly donated the Christmas Tree for the church.

Recently Deceased
Please pray for the soul of Ann Pate who died recently.  She will be received into church on 17th December and her funeral will be on 18th December.  Covid restrictions means that only 30 people can attend the reception and funeral.  I know many parishioner would want to be at the funeral but unfortunately, this will not be possible.  There will be Holy Mass on 17th December at 7.00 p.m. and on 18th December at 9.30 a.m. if you wish to come and pray for Ann on those occasions.

200 Club
A big thank you to everyone who has joined the 200 club this year.  As you can imagine it has been a struggle to send and receive subscriptions.  As a result of that struggle, we have fewer players in the club this year so we have had to change the prizes slightly to reflect lower participation this year.  The new prizes are £50, £30, £10 and £10.  Here's hoping you're a winner!

St Teresa's Live - 24 hours
The new camera means that we are able to run a 24 hour stream of the church.  This means that at any time of the day and night you can 'check in' on the church and offer a prayer.
This will be streaming from YouTube.  If you could subscribe to our YouTube channel, that would be much appreciated.

Children's Liturgy
This will continue during the month, the videos will be posted each Sunday.  Do encourage children to participate by watching them.

Becoming Catholic and Growing in Faith
We are working through these sessions via Zoom so this can continue during November.  If you wish to join the group, it meets 7.30 p.m. - 8.30 p.m. on Fridays.  Contact Fr Michael for a link.

Broken Jewellery
Many thanks to those who have been sending in little bits of jewellery.  Just before lockdown, we were able to raise just over £90.  If you fancy a doing some sorting out, please send odd earrings, broken chains, rings with stones missing.  Anything that you no longer use.  We can use the value of the gold (or silver etc.) to help us in the parish.

Hymns at Home
Sing hymns from home on Sunday at 10.00 a.m. use the following link to zoom.  Please note, this does cross over our celebration of Mass which starts at 9.30 a.m. https://us04web.zoom.us/j/77323198441?pwd=Q3IwR3hPOHlFUGVGTXlQSVJ5TGhBQT09
