From Fr Michael

I hope and pray that our young friends had a good and fruitful first week back together.  It was lovely to hear the noises of children playing in the school playground, a noise that has been missing in 2021!

I am sure that we are all longing for different things to become 'normal' once again.  I can't wait for church to be filled again, to sing, and for it to stop looking like a biohazard zone with red and green dots and blue masking tape!  The Spring Clean that I'm asking your help with will be a great way of making the church and the meeting room feel more homely and inviting.  If you are able to help see the note below and join the team serving our parish in this way.  Thank you to those who have already offered to help.

The other little step towards normality for the church is to re-start the chapel lamps.  If you remember, we had a blue sanctuary lamp for Our Lady and a red one for St Teresa.  They were lit for prayer intentions.  I would like to start them again.  Keeping a light burning in these chapels as a sign of our prayer intentions being given to Our Lady and St Teresa to pray on our behalf.

This weekend both candles are burning for mothers, those who are still with us, those who are enjoying their eternal reward, and for spiritual mothers.  As we keep Mother's Day today we are conscious that we might not be able to meet and see our own mothers, but we commend them to the prayers of Our Lady and St Teresa.

If you would like a candle lit for a particular intention, you can either online or by filling in an envelope which are by the piety shop.  The intention will be displayed in the chapels and on the eNewsletter and I invite all of our parishioners to pray for that intention.  Let's keep praying and keep working our way towards an easier future.

Hope, pray, don't worry!

Fr Michael

Church Spring Clean - Serving the Parish
A big thank you to those who have volunteered.  If you can spend a little time tidying/ sorting/ the church and Meeting Room we will be most grateful.  There's plenty to do!
Anyone with a van who can take the old office furniture to the tip would be a great help.  Contact Suzanne who is coordinating people so we can keep safe as we clean!

Help us speed up track and trace by signing up to get a sheet of 65 little stickers with your name and phone number on.  When you come to Holy Mass, simply peel one off and stick it to the track and trace sheet! All we ask for is a donation to cover printing and the cost of the labels.  Click the picture to order yours!
The Directory For Catechesis
A free virtual conference by the Maryvale Institute looking at the Directory for Catechesis.  This is an excellent document and there are some excellent speakers including Fr Jan who many of you know from his time with us last year.  Click the photo for more info and to sign up.  This document has given me lots of ideas!
Serve - Hospitality Team

If you are able to come to Holy Mass and can help serve in our Hospitality Team, that would be fantastic.  This is the only way we are able to offer welcome and service at church at the moment and is great way to get involved.  Contact Lindsay for more information.
