From Fr Michael

This weekend we begin Passiontide.  This is a time when we move our focus from the works of Lent to contemplating the Passion and Death of the Lord.  To highlight the change, the crucifix and statues are veiled so nothing can distract us in our prayer.

On Tuesday we have a National Day of Prayer on the Anniversary of the First Lockdown.  The Bishops have asked us to open our churches on that day for people to come and pray for all those who have lost lives or have been affected in so many different ways by the coronavirus pandemic.  Here is what is happening at St Teresa's on that day of prayer:

Tuesday 23rd March
8.00 a.m. Holy Mass
8.30 a.m. - 9.00 a.m. Adoration
I invite those who are bringing children to school to come into church for a just a couple of minutes to offer a prayer.

6.00 p.m. - 6.30 p.m. Adoration
A time of quiet prayer for parishioners to come and offer a moment of prayer.

Next weekend we begin Holy Week with Palm Sunday.  As you might imagine, it will be slightly different this year.  The times of the main celebrations are below. Please note:
  • There is no need to book tickets or reserve seats
  • Places are first come first serve
  • Once we are safely full, you will be invited to watch online or come to another celebration
  • Please plan carefully what ceremonies to attend.  If you prefer fewer people attending consider coming to some of the liturgies that are advertised.
  • There will be an extra Mass at 11.00 a.m. on Easter Sunday

Church Spring Clean - Serving the Parish
Thank you to everyone who offered help and have given the church, narthex, meeting room, choir loft, sacristy and everywhere a jolly good clean!  It was a wonderful way to come together (safely, of course) to serve the parish and the community, making our church a welcoming place.  Thank you!
Track and Trace Stickers!
Help us speed up track and trace by signing up to get a sheet of 65 little stickers with your name and phone number on.  When you come to Holy Mass, simply peel one off and stick it to the track and trace sheet! All we ask for is a donation to cover printing and the cost of the labels.  Click the picture to order yours!
Serve - Hospitality Team

If you are able to come to Holy Mass and can help serve in our Hospitality Team, that would be fantastic.  This is the only way we are able to offer welcome and service at church at the moment and is great way to get involved.  Contact Lindsay for more information.
