Music Hall Encore

Wednesday 18 September from 6pm Start The Coal House, Strand, WC2 9RW Finish: Leicester Square

In the company of Max Miller and other Music Hall heroes, re-created by Mr Tommy Parsons (aka Mitch Feral from Funny Story Productions), we will start at The Coal Hole on the Strand (just at the bottom of the steps by the Savoy Theatre stage door – on the  borders of London’s Theatreland). We visit the sites of the very first beginnings of Music Hall : Evans Supper Rooms and The Cyder Cellars. The original buildings no longer exist, but there are traces and plaques and names – for instance, the Coal Hole pub still bears the name of one of the earliest ‘free ‘n’ easy’ venues. Polish your shoes, clear your throats, we are off on a magical musical tour - read more and book

In conjunction with Placecloud app and to celebrate storytelling about places, we are delighted to announce our new flash writing competition Flash #mylandmarks.  The competition opens on Saturday 31 August and runs until the end of September.

Submit a story of 250 words or under about a place that is significant to you - that's all you need to do....

Winners will be published in Flash #mylandmarks, a limited edition chapbook, published by Sampson Low Publishers. Winners receive  6 copies of the limited edition chapbook, but in addition, their flash pieces will also be created as audio ‘placecasts’, voiced by an actor and made available on the Placecloud app until 31 December 2019.

Don't fancy writing anything but still want to tell us about a place significant to you?  Then all you need to do is record your own #mylandmarks 'placecast' and submit it to Placecloud.  More details of how you can do just that here
These two ducks know full well that SoundWalkSunday has morphed into #SoundWalkSeptember - they are part of an intriguing promenade choral piece along the river Thames called THALWEG, of which you can be part.  From Saturday 22 September - read more and book
We may be just about half way through September, but soundwalk events keep happening -  join in more than a dozen events taking place - more details here
