The 2019 ICA Council on Upper Cervical Care Symposium Coming Soon!!
Early Bird Registration Deadline May 4th!
We are in the process of firming up last minute details for the Symposium June 6-8th in Denver. Registrations are picking up and the early bird registration deadline of May 4th is fast approaching. This will definitely be the Upper Cervical Event of the Year! We have an amazing speaker line-up, paper presentations and new this year, an expert panel and President’s reception. Do not miss out on the symposium this year as it won’t be held again until 2021 in Atlanta.
Planning and details for the Graduation of the second Diplomate Class are almost complete and we are excited to celebrate their achievement.
We continue to meet weekly as the Symposium approaches. A HUGE thanks to everyone on the committee who have put in many volunteer hours to help make this a success for the Council.
The 3rd Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures Class Has Begun!
A distinguished group of Upper Cervical Chiropractors have begun the Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures (DCCJP), the profession's only postgraduate program that incorporates different upper cervical procedures.
Developed and administered by the ICA Council on Upper Cervical Care, the program takes 2.5 years to complete and provides intensive education in spinal biomechanics, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, advanced imaging, and upper cervical research. The curriculum also includes collaborative learning of the major orthogonal and articular approaches to adjusting the upper cervical subluxation, outcome assessments, integrative learning as well as research writing and presentation. An all-around education!
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE COUNCIL?
The first Clinical Rounds is set for the weekend of August 9-10th. Dr. Rick Cockwill is hosting.
Clinical Grand Rounds were created in 2017 and are designed to offer Diplomates, Fellows, current members of the Council on Upper Cervical Care and other chiropractic professionals an opportunity to enhance knowledge and clinical expertise.
The Clinical Grand Rounds include interesting and unique live cases or case reports that the doctor will present and take you through their assessment and outcomes. They will share their unique protocols, thought processes and clinical pearls from their experience.
The format is similar to what you will or have experienced in the Diplomat program: a weekend presentation at the office of a clinician. These are small group presentations allowing for advanced discussions. Space is limited and enrollment is limited to ten (10) Doctors.
Each of the Rounds will be announced by email first to Fellows and Diplomates, then to Candidates in the Diplomate Programs, then to Council Members and finally to Doctors of Chiropractic.
All registrations will be done through the ICA Council website
Grand Rounds are held on weekends (Friday / Saturday or Saturday / Sunday)
Presentations are eight to twelve (8-12) hours over two days
Attendance Certificate is presented but Clinical Rounds are not CE accredited
Evaluations will be used to recommend Clinicians for future Grand Rounds
Are you a Member of the ICA Council on Upper Cervical Care yet?
If you are committed to the development of the Upper Cervical profession the Upper Cervical Council provides you with an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way.
In the last 5 years, the UC council has graduated it's first class of upper cervical diplomates and enrolled a second class, published a research paper in the Journal of Canadian Chiropractic Assoc. added upper cervical specific questions to the National Board Exams, and connected in a significant way with four North American chiropractic schools to help support upper cervical education in the classroom.
These projects are just the start, and if you feel passionate about upper cervical care and it's continued success in chiropractic and in health care this is how you can contribute.
