Canned Food Myths – Busted!

Fall is the time of year for soothing soups, yummy stews, and comfort foods. It’s also an ideal time for canned foods. But far too many people feel that they’re cutting corners by using them. Sometimes zipping open a can is associated with guilt. But enjoying canned foods can and should be guilt-free. This month we talked with Jackie Newgent, RDN and culinary nutritionist, who gives her culinary blessing to cook with canned foods!

OK, OK, maybe we’re late to the game since it seems everyone starts talking about pumpkin as early as September these days! But let’s savor the flavor when the time is truly right! There’s nothing like a thick and creamy pumpkin soup, your favorite pie or even a twist on a traditional holiday favorite using the very versatile canned pumpkin!
