Thinking Inside the Can, But Outside of the Box

As the weather warms up, people tend to shift their minds to “outside food.” Grilling picks up, and Farmers Markets begin to open for the summer. Before we jump feet first into the fresh swimming pool, we wanted to share some ideas for how to double consumption of fruits and veggies this year. And to do that, we need “All Forms,” (canned, fresh, frozen, dried and 100% juice) all year round.

Happy Birthday MyPlate!

In honor of MyPlate’s birthday this June, we thought we’d feature one of their new infographics from their 5 Ways Series called “Pick a Peach: Canned Peaches 5 Ways.”

According to a recent Health Professional Survey, conducted by the Canned Food Alliance, 95% of respondents agree all forms of food, including canned, can help consumers meet MyPlate’s fruit and vegetable recommendations, slightly higher than the number seen in 2016 (91%).

Kudos to MyPlate and to you all for making this “half your plate” thing a little easier.
