Sustainable Investing And ESG Advocates Hope Dire Climate Report Serves As Wake Up Call For Financial Services
"Financial professionals that have been advocating for sustainable and ESG investing are hoping that a report released by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will serve as a wake up call."

How a green investment fund aims to restore nature, make top returns and help local societies
A good example of how do to well by doing good. A green investment fund that focuses on top returns and simultaneously helping local societies. The fund has started small, just over $200 million, but it has already started projects in eight countries. These projects range from sustainable coffee and cocoa production to restore deforested areas in Latin America, through to sustainable forestry projects and tree nuts production in Africa and Asia, each time with a strong focus on smallholders’ inclusion.
Explosion in electronic payments powers start-up boom in Nigeria
West Africa has attracted more than $1bn in venture capital in the past two years from Silicon Valley, China and elsewhere. According to the venture fund Partech, in its annual report on technology in Africa, Nigerian companies raised $307m in venture funding in 2020, a fifth of Africa’s total. Nearly 40 per cent went to the fintech sector.

Sustainability-linked bonds help put ESG into practice
ESG is not a new concept, however it has gained momentum. Companies around the world have been reviewing their business models integrating ESG into their agenda. Bottom line, harmonising financial results while simultaneously contributing to impact future generations has been what investors are starting to demand. ESG is not only looked at as the right thing to do, but also as a huge business opportunity for a company to be on the right side of the history.
Africa: Why Investing in Emerging Markets is a Win for Investors and African Companies
"Investment firms like DPI that focus on impact investing and environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) investing are driving positive social and environmental change across Africa. However, nothing has the potential to impact Africa's development like increasing the amount of institutional capital, including from pension funds and insurance companies, throughout the continent."

Primed For Growth: The Impact Investment Mindset
Impact investing simply means investing your money in companies that will generate positive environmental and social outcomes. Therefore the financial returns for these investments are more meaningful.  Millennials and Gen Zs want their investments to do more than just make money. This generation of consumers buys from companies that are aligned with and support their values and philosophies of life, and investors are listening!
