The Old Howard Troupe (taking its name from the infamous Howard Athenaeum) is bringing the experience of the English music hall back to life for the enjoyment of modern audiences, and it’s a SHOW! The Troupe’s six singers, in their over-the-top stage costumes that span the music hall’s heyday, are accompanied onstage by their trusty piano accompanist. Just some info about:
The Coronavirus.
According to the City of Boston: Coronaviruses are respiratory viruses and are generally spread through respiratory secretions (droplets from coughs and sneezes) of an infected person to another person. Symptoms of novel coronavirus include fever, cough and shortness of breath, and, in severe cases, pneumonia (fluid in the lungs).

Information about how this novel coronavirus spreads is still limited. How to prevent the spread of the virus:
-Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
-Cover your coughs and sneezes.
-Stay home if you are sick. The risk in MA is low, but stay vigilant with your prevention!

Dine Out Boston
March 1-6 & 8-13, 2020

Don't forget to make your reservations early!
Recipe Corner
So here is my new favorite thing to make!
NO Bake Granola Bars
super easy and fast, and add what you like!

1 1/2 cups Old Fashioned Oats
1 cup Rice Krispies
1/4 cup of butter
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar (I used brown sugar truvia)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Put the honey, brown sugar and the butter in a microwave save bowl, and microwave for 2 minutes.  Make sure the bowl is big enough, because the mixture will bubble up quite a bit.

While those ingredients are getting hot, mix your oats and rice krispies in bowl.

Mix the ingredients when you take the bowl out of the microwave, and add the salt and vanilla.  Pour the mix over the oats and rice krispies.  Mix until fully coated.
Add whatever ingredients you like, and then pour it out onto parchment paper, or a lightly sprayed tray, and shape and flatten it to the size and thickness that you like. Refrigerate the mix on the tray for 1+ hours and then cut into bars or squares as you like.

I like to add dried cranberries, roasted almonds (which I chop up), pumpkin seeds & dark chocolate mini chips (add these when the mix has cooled a little, or they will just melt - but they are good even when they melt! ).  I add maybe a total of 2 cups of goodies - or a little more.

We encourage you to dine at restaurants in our neighborhood.  We know that it can get crazy when there are games/shows at the TD Garden, but when there is a dark night, these businesses could use our support!  We are going to start highlighting some of our West End restaurants!
