Trip to the Encore Casino
Saturday, Feb 29th

Wanted to go but don't want to go alone?  Been before and want to go again?

Bring  your friends, make new ones, but this trip is yours!  We are happy to meet and travel together, or you can be completely independent and run into us along the way!

RSVP to us to let us know if you want to travel together!

We will plan to meet at North Station and take the Orange Line to Wellington Station and take the shuttle which departs from Wellington Station every 10 min.

We encourage you to dine at restaurants in our neighborhood.  We know that it can get crazy when there are games/shows at the TD Garden, but when there is a dark night, these businesses could use our support!  We are going to start highlighting some of our West End restaurants!

America’s first action film, “The Great Train Robbery” (1903), introduced new filming and editing techniques in the U.S. “Fights of Nations” (1907) depicts highly stereotyped versions of how Mexicans, Irish, Scotts, and others behave in disputes and seemingly how all come together peacefully in America. Viewers continue to debate if the short film is rooted in comedy or xenophobia. In “A Natural Born Gambler” (1916), Bert Williams’ performance reflects the comedic stylings of the early 1900s and signifies the rise of stage stars becoming movie stars. A prominent entertainer and celebrated African American comedian, Williams was seen as irreplaceable by Florenz Ziegfeld of the iconic Ziegfeld Follies.

The 3rd annual Boston Farm & Fiber Festival brings together 25+ New England local farm fiber vendors right into the heart of downtown Boston. We are excited to offer a showcase for small fiber farmers and producers throughout New England and to celebrate the wonderful, sustainable, gorgeous and diverse world of #FarmYarns.

The Boston Farm & Fiber Festival is the only festival in New England that exclusively celebrates and promotes farm yarns, single heritage sheep breed yarns, and flock yarns. Our farmer partners will be showcasing a stunning + diverse range of breed specific yarns, roving, fleece, and crafts including Merino, Shetland, Cormo, Leicester Longwool breeds, along with other heritage sheep breeds and blends, including a number of alpaca farmers. We are proud to provide a venue for these gorgeous and sustainable fibers!
Happy New Year Again!

We hope that 2020 has started well for all of you! We've had some warm days, and some snow, but we fear the cold might be here to stay.  As residents of New England, we know that weather is never predictable.

We are going to be adding a few new things to our Newsletter!  Some recipes, some neighbor highlights, and a few other things that we are working on... We'll learn a little more about each other and what's out there!

So this is a trendy food these days.  How do you feel about it?
I actually LOVE it! The good thing about these are you can add whatever you like, in so many combinations!

For Avocado Toast:
I like a half an avocado mixed with a little lime, salt & pepper and a drizzle of good olive oil w/ a slice of seeded toast. If I have time, an egg on top works, some cilantro, or a slice of tomato!

For Ricotta Toast:
I use a part skim ricotta and then I make a blueberry sauce (the softer blueberries that I don't like to eat by themselves. or use any fruit you like).  Cook them down with a table spoon of truvia- or sugar, the juice from half a lemon and a tablespoon of honey).  Add it over a little of the ricotta on a slice of toast.  I love it on a wheat with nuts, or sourdough.

What kind do you like?
