The Old Howard Troupe (taking its name from the infamous Howard Athenaeum) is bringing the experience of the English music hall back to life for the enjoyment of modern audiences, and it’s a SHOW! The Troupe’s six singers, in their over-the-top stage costumes that span the music hall’s heyday, are accompanied onstage by their trusty piano accompanist. They sing classics from the music hall stage, such as “Let Me Call you Sweetheart” and “Daisy Bell”.

We encourage you to dine at restaurants in our neighborhood.  We know that it can get crazy when there are games/shows at the TD Garden, but when there is a dark night, these businesses could use our support!  We are going to start highlighting some of our West End restaurants!

It's Super Bowl Weekend!

The Patriots are not in it, but there is a reason to watch, no matter which team you choose!  On the one hand, we can appreciate a team that hasn't been to the Super Bowl in 50 years, and Kansas City has fought their way to the Big Game this year!  and on the other side, Jimmy Garoppolo, who was Tom Brady's back up, is the quarterback that has lead the San Franscico 49ers to try to win their first Super Bowl in 25 years.  So who are you rooting for?

Not interested in the game? If you want to tune into the Shakira and Jennifer Lopez halftime show, it should start shortly after 8pm (game starts at 6:30pm)

Just in it for the commercials?  I hear Mr. Peanut is doomed, heros are featured, laughs will be a plenty and MC Hammer had help writing "U Can't Touch This."  If you haven't see the Boston Hyundai commercial yet, HERE it is!

Game is Sunday, February 2, 6:30 on FOX

Recipe Corner

Chicken wings seem to be on everyone's minds because it's Super Bowl weekend,  but whether to make them to watch football or not, here's a tip!

Add Baking Powder (use non-aluminum baking powder so it's not bitter) to your seasoning!  You'll get crispier skin, without frying!

Example Recipe:
Season your patted dry chicken wings with salt, pepper in a bowl (add other seasonings if you like) and a big heaping tablespoon of baking POWDER.

Spread the chicken wings on a sprayed baking sheet and make sure they are flat and not overlapping.  Put them in a 400 degree oven for 40 min, turning them over half way.  Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees, so you can check with a thermometer.

Have a warm sauce ready for when they come out.  Make a buffalo wing sauce with hot sauce and butter, or a Honey BBQ sauce (use your favorite BBQ sauce, honey and season to taste), or asian sticky sauce (soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, brown sugar and garlic).  A warm sauce will stick to your wings better than room temp, so put your ingredients in a pan and heat them!
