Special edition:
Halton's COVID-19 Interactive Dashboard

This will be the final edition of the weekly report, because you can now access surveillance data anytime using the Halton COVID-19 interactive dashboard. This special edition of the report will help you learn how to use the dashboard to obtain the information formerly available in the weekly report.

New Halton COVID-19 Interactive Dashboard:
Halton’s new COVID-19 interactive dashboard provides a summary of the current local situation and incorporates core epidemiological indicators of COVID-19 activity in Halton to date. Dashboard users can explore Halton’s COVID-19 data on overall case counts, case demographics, institutional outbreaks and lab testing. The dashboard can be accessed at halton.ca/covid19.

Case counts

On the dashboard's case counts tab, breakdowns are available by case status (active, resolved or deceased) and type of case (confirmed or probable). You can also see the net change in total cases from the last update. Use the "Select a geography" filter to view the data for an individual municipality and use the buttons below the graph to change the visualization (type of date, primary exposure category, and graph type).

Case demographics

On the dashboard's case demographics tab, breakdowns are available by sex, case status, primary exposure group and age group. Use the slider along the top to select a date range (based on case reported date). Use the "Municipality" filter to view the data for an individual community.

Institutional outbreaks

Information is available in the dashboard on both currently active and closed institutional outbreaks. Institutions are defined as long-term care homes, retirement homes and public hospitals. For each institutional outbreak, information on institution name, institution type, date declared, date declared over, resident cases and resident deaths is provided. Use the "Municipality" filter to view the data for an individual municipality. To see the information in a visual format, select "Graph of outbreaks".

Lab testing

In the dashboard's lab testing data section, breakdowns are available by week for the number of Halton residents tested and the percentage of tested residents who were positive for COVID-19.
