Dear Friends of Boyer's Orchard,
We wanted to share an update about this year's fruit harvest. Like many fruit growers across Southcentral Alaska, we experienced a very challenging growing season. Many fruit trees produced little or no fruit this year. As a result,
We will not be holding any public Pick-Your-Own fruit events this season
The limited fruit we were fortunate enough to harvest will be reserved for our 2026 Tree Sponsors. Sponsorships are full for this year, and we will open for new sponsorships in February of 2027.
We hope to have small quantities of freshly picked fruit available for tasting at some of our upcoming events and for volunteer nights. We welcome your help every Wednesday from 4-6 pm during August and September.
We still have apple trees available for sale. These are trees were grafted here in Alaska using hardy rootstocks and known varieties of hardy and delicious apples. Stop over Wednesdays from 4-6 pm to see our selection. Planting is still good through September. $40 each
While this year's harvest may be smaller than usual, our mission remains the same: preserving this historic community orchard, sharing knowledge about growing fruit in Alaska, and bringing people together through hands-on learning and community events. Story Time in the Orchard - Wednesdays August 12, 19, 26. Librarians from Loussac Library will lead story time at 11:00. Then stay for activities and play time. Free Event, some concessions may be available for purchase.
Krambambuli Puppet Theater - Friday August 21, 3:30 pm or 5:30 pm.
Early bird special $25 per family/group. $30 after Aug14. Come enjoy the magic of Krambambuli Puppet Theatre. Doors open at 3pm or 5pm. Kids can enjoy playing in the mud kitchen and explore the orchard. Concession stand will be open for snacks to purchase for the show.
2026 Harvest Celebration – Saturday September 26, 3-6 pm. Vendors, cider pressing, food truck, and many other fun activities. $10 each or $30 for groups.
Volunteer Days – Wednesdays 4-6 pm through September. There's always something happening at the orchard, and volunteers are the heart of what we do. Families welcome. Dress for the weather.
