Put the Community in Foundation for Community Health with a Year-End Gift!

You make it possible for your Foundation for Community Health to deliver health, prevention and safety education and activities to the people of western Montana. Please consider making a year-end gift online, or call us at 406.926.2522 about Qualified Endowment Credit gifts or other giving opportunities.

In a year filled with long-time relationships, new partnerships and continued collaboration, our donors and volunteers have made possible:

  • Thirteen healthcare scholarships totaling $22,000 to high school seniors with goals of pursuing a career in the healthcare industry
  • Our new Health Grants Program, which has begun providing targeted support for health-focused projects advancing healthy lives in western Montana through new partnerships with recipients in the first cycle
  • A broader reach for our Be Sun Smart skin cancer and melanoma awareness initiative through direct education and a media campaign with the help of Betty Robinson, Dr. Kristin Anderson and several media partners
  • Our annual Safe Kids Fair, which welcomed children, parents and caregivers to learn about safe practices at home, in the car and during play from more than 30 community safety experts and volunteers, extending our yearly outreach to more than 7,000 people
  • The 6th annual Community Cup Hockey Benefit in partnership with Dr. Tim and Tonda Richards and Glacier Ice Rink, raising funds for healthcare scholarships and professional development in honor of Ty Robinson and the Glacier Ice Rink bleacher project
  • A second annual Pediatric Patient Toy Drive, with the Missoula Volkswagen Club, collecting 59 toys to be distributed to pediatric patients at Partnership Health Center and Community Medical Center
  • Legacy gifts for our future, like those received from the Brooks family estate, as well as additions to our Foundation permanent endowment and an endowment held for our Foundation with the Montana Community Foundation
Our impact for advancing healthy lives in western Montana is driven by our donors and volunteers. Thank you for bringing life to our mission!
6th Annual Community Cup Pledges & Gifts Top $15,000
The 2016 Community Cup Hockey Benefit over Thanksgiving weekend scored big points for the students and professionals who will benefit from healthcare scholarships in our new Ty Robinson Family Endowment and hockey fans cheering on their teams from the new Glacier Ice Rink bleachers!

Events like the Community Cup provide an opportunity for a diverse group of community supporters to engage in the Foundation’s mission of advancing healthy lives in western Montana. Eight teams participated in this year’s Community Cup, which also featured a skills contest, a prize-filled Chuck-A- Puck challenge, and a pediatric patient toy drive. Our final tally celebrates gifts, pledges and in-kind donations topping $15,000 – imagine the impact on high school seniors and healthcare professionals receiving Foundation scholarships in our upcoming 27th healthcare scholarship season, and the thousands who will enjoy the new bleachers at Glacier Ice Rink for years to come!  We are so grateful for the generosity of sponsors, donors and supporters of this lively event. Thank you!

Safe Kids Spotlight: Healthy Start Missoula
Each month, we feature one of our Coalition partners and share information about the important work they do to make safety a community priority in western Montana. This month, our Safe Kids Spotlight is on Healthy Start Missoula.

Healthy Start Missoula, a workgroup of Missoula Forum for Children and Youth, is a coalition of organizations that supports families with young children. The purpose of Healthy Start is to connect families with resources and tools to help them be the best parents they can be. Healthy Start believes everyone benefits when parents have support. When parents have the support they need, they can celebrate the joys of parenting, and their kids will likely be healthier, happier, and ready to learn. Healthy, happy kids often make safer choices when they get to their teen years.

A total of 59 toys were distributed to Community Medical Center and Partnership Health Center for their pediatric patients cared for during the holidays. Thank you to the generous individuals who donated a toy! We also want to thank Missoula Volkswagen Club for their leadership of this project, and Karl Tyler Missoula Volkswagen, Import Palace and Ruby's Cafe for serving as collection sites.
