MakerGirl Mission & Vision

Mission:  By 2025, there will be an equal number of women and men involved in STEM K-12 education programs and pursuing STEM degrees.

Vision:  There will be gender equality in number, pay, and expectation in all STEM workplaces.

MakerGirl Summer Sessions!

 
We are really excited to continue teaching girls about STEM this Summer through the following five unique programs.  When signing up, it is imperative that you complete the Eventbrite (linked in the title of each session) and this UIUC form.  It is imperative that you fill out the UIUC form one time for every girl that you sign up.  Information about scholarships is given in the UIUC form. Looking forward to seeing you and your MakerGirls this Summer!
  • Branch 1-Clipped to the Future: Girls will make simple hair barrettes with 3-D printing.  'Branch 1' signifies that this is one of the easiest modules.  Please do not sign your daughter(s) up if she/they have attended a 'Clipped to the Future' Session before.
  • Branch 1-Make A Name for Yourself: Girls will make simple key chains with 3-D printing.  'Branch 1' signifies that it this one of the easiest modules.  Please do not sign your daughter(s) up if she/they have attended a 'Make A Name for Yourself' Session before.
  • Branch 2-Creativity With Criteria: Girls will make any object given certain criteria.  'Branch 2' signifies that it is a more difficult module than 'Branch 1' modules.  Please do not sign your daughter(s) up if she/they attended the MakerGirl session on April 27.
  • Branch 2-Gummy Bears: Girls will make a gummy bear-like object.  'Branch 2' signifies that it is a more difficult module than 'Branch 1' modules. 
  • Branch 3-4D Camp:  This is a progressive four day camp composed of the following elements:  "Dream, Design, Develop, and Display."  Girls will learn how to take an idea from concept to displaying it.  'Branch 3' signifies that it is a more in-depth module than the 'Branch 1" and 'Branch 2' modules.
