Poulsbo Sons of Norway 2-44 - President's Message
Happy Fall to All our Members!
October will be an important month here at the lodge. It’s not only Foundation Month but it is the major time of searching for new officers for the board.  At our member meeting on October 12th, the Nominating Committee will present the slate of officers they have put together for 2022.  If you are thinking of running for a board position, be sure to contact one of the Nominating Committee members—Alisha Anunson, Mary Gerstel, Helen Wytko, Christina Webster, or Natalie Kuska--or call the office at 360-779-5209.
Yes, being on the board is a responsibility.  Yes, being a board member takes up some of your valuable time.  And, yes, sometimes being on the board means standing up against a popular idea.  But, being on the board and making a difference can be very gratifying.  Also, being on the board helps you get to know your fellow lodge members.  So, think about the best way to support your lodge and throw your hat into the ring!
Autumn, with all its colors and cool temperatures, is suddenly upon us.  It’s the rain and cooler temperatures so many of you were pining for in July and August!  Many fun times are in store for you here at the lodge this month.  Come join us for Friday night dinners such as a pig roast, an Italian extravaganza, or our special Kodalen steak dinner and Halloween party on the 29th.  Our Social Director Helen Wytko is in the midst of planning the party.  Besides dinners, come play Trivia on Thursdays or pick another game, like cribbage or bunko or mahjong, to play on a quiet evening in the bar.
We will also be starting the preparations for our holiday celebrations.  Did you know that we’ve changed the name of our bazaar to Nordic Market to better reflect our Scandinavian heritage?  We’ll need many volunteers to make our celebrations successful.  I know, I know, it’s my ongoing theme and my mantra—Volunteers are vital to the health and wellbeing of our lodge.  If each of you were to volunteer for one event, the load would be light for everyone.  Enjoy each day.
Remember--it’s a New Dawn, it’s a New Day, it’s a New Life!
Fred være med deg til neste måned

From the Sports Desk
Congratulations to Rob Kodalen! He is our winner of the 2nd Annual Kubb Tournament held September 11 in the park outside the lodge. He defeated Ingunn Kuester in a final that was closer than it seemed. Rob left before we could snap a picture, but give him a fist bump if you see him.
We are planning a 3rd Annual Kubb Tournament for fall or winter at T-Mobile Park so we can play out of the rain. Watch this space for more details!
