As we say goodbye to the confinement of COVID, we continue to partner with our scouting families with a renewed excitement as we move to the GREAT OUTDOORS!
Your council staff and fellow volunteers have been busy preparing for a great summer and fall program. There are upcoming events you will not want to miss, including resident camp at 3 Falls for your pack and troop!
In the last few months, we have:
Invested thousands of dollars on improvements at Camp 3 Falls
Opened the Scout Shop on Tuesdays and Saturdays
Created a new website highlighting our programs and upcoming events
Finished phase-one on the upgrade to our Service Center
Prepared and made available our office meeting rooms for committees and Boards of Review
Rechartered more scouts than any of the other 9 councils in our Area
Indeed, we have significant momentum and are excited about celebrating Ventura County Council’s 100th anniversary, culminating in our fall camporee. We also look forward to this second half of the year showcasing a new unit-serving executive to help serve your needs.
On June 1st, I will celebrate my second year as your Scout Executive/CEO. Thank you for allowing me to serve our great Ventura County community! I am excited in continuing our partnership and encourage you to invite others in what will be a memorable experience for our youth.
ONE WEEEK AWAY....Wood Badge is an advanced leader workshop for any position-trained adult leader that wants to give youth the best Scouting experience possible. We will teach you tools and techniques that can improve every aspect of your Pack, Troop, or Crew and have applications outside of Scouting too.
Troop 111 joined the 57th Foresters representing Troops 128 and 805 for a fantastic two day service project along the Gene Marshall/Piedra Blanca National Rec Trail. This included sawyer work, tread improvement and lots of brush removal to make the route passable .
