Dalian Wanda Group Co., one of China’s largest entertainment and commercial real estate companies has signed a contract with South Korean visual effects (VFX) house Dexter Studios. “Demand for VFX expertise is surging in the rapidly growing Chinese market, so we expect Wanda Group’s investment would serve a major catalyst for expanding Dexter’s services in China,” a Dexter official said. French artist duo Adrien M. and Claire B. showcased their performing art piece called Hakanai, which translate to ephemeral” or “fragile” in Japanese. This piece explores the interaction of the human and digital worlds, the physical and the virtual realms, and the invisible but very real connection between the two. Watch the performance here.

3D printing’s growing influence has infused into the ever-evolving world of art. From architecture and sculpture to dance and music, artists are creating jaw-dropping objects with the printer. Artists have taken to the art of 3D design and 3D printing enthusiastically as it allows them the chance to make not only gaming accouterments but also to make characters more realistic and tangible – from figurines to cosplay to actually creating gaming systems and cases. With a background in digital modeling, prop-building, set design and painting, Holder definitely had a good foundation for taking a project like the total 3D printing of Gabriel.
