About the presentation
What is soil? Where does it come from? What is it made of? How do you identify the different characteristics of soil, and what type is yours? 

About Laura
Laura Scialabba is an educator who develops curriculum and teaches science-based programs at Oakland Nature Preserve. She is enthusiastic about sharing her love of science and nature with young people, helping them explore and appreciate the natural world, and igniting their passion to be tomorrow’s environmental stewards. Prior to working at Oakland Nature Preserve, she worked as an environmental scientist for an engineering consulting company for many years, where she performed environmental assessments, geologic surveys, soil and groundwater sampling, and wetlands identification/restoration throughout the Eastern United States. Laura graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in 1998.
